Geishas are NOT prostitutes.

Geisha are traditional Japanese women who are trained since childhood in the art of classical music, manner, and dance. The word "geisha" in japan means ‘artisan’. Contrary to popular belief, geishas are not prostitutes. Gesihas and prostitutes work at different ends of the same profession. However, they are still depicted as expensive prostitutes in Western popular culture. But there is a strict distinction between geishas and prostitutes. The only common thing between prostitutes and geishas are the both are entertainers. The movie "Memoirs of a Geisha" which came out in 2005 which was directed by Rob Marshall, gives us a clear window on who are geishas and about their life style. The movie won three academy award and was nominated in other 17 categories.I loved the movie and definitely recommend it.

The Song "Last Kiss"

This is my first blog and I am writing about a song I love which is “Last kiss”. This song was written by Wayne Cochran in 1962 and was originally performed by Wayne Cochran & the C.C. Rider. The song was later covered by J. Frank Wilson and the Cavaliers, Wednesday, Pearl Jam, and several international artists. I like the Pearl Jam’s version the most. I also love the lyrics and the fact that the song is dedicated to a sixteen year old teenager Jeanette Clark. Jeanette was killed in a car accident on December 22, 1962 with several other friends of her who were travelling in the same car. She was out on a date in Barnesville, Georgia when this all happened. The lyrics entirely describe the incident and how traumatic the moment must have been.

I will always write every Friday no later than 11 p.m.
